Santa Monica Red Cross and KLOS 95.5 Radio to host blood drive
 
The American Red Cross of Santa Monica and KLOS/95.5 radio will host the 28th Annual American Red Cross/KLOS blood drive on four days -- Thursday, July  30 and   Friday, August 31, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, August 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  
Those wishing to participate in the Annual Red Cross/KLOS Blood Drive are encouraged to make an appointment to donate blood.  Local residents can call the American Red Cross at 1.800.GIVE.LIFE (1.800.448.3543) or visit www.GiveLife.org.  For Spanish, please call 1.866.POR.VIDA (1.866.767.8432) or visit www.cruzrojaamericana.org. 
 
Persons in good health over the age of 17 (age 16 if accompanied by a parent) and who weigh at least 110 pounds are eligible to donate blood. Bring your I.D. -- a photo identification is required for blood donations. The American Red Cross asks potential donors to be sure to drink plenty of water and eat normally before giving blood.
 
Donations will be taken at the Santa Monica Red Cross chapter at 1450 11th Street in Santa Monica near Broadway. Free parking is available. An appointment to give blood is highly recommended.
This is a great opportunity to provide much needed relief at a time when blood supplies are at a low. The Santa Monica Red Cross and KLOS would like as many people as possible to come out and donate blood to those who have survived accidents, heart transplants, critical surgery, premature births and other ailments. 

 
Participants in this year's Red Cross/KLOS Blood Drive will receive a commemorative 28th Annual Red Cross/KLOS T-shirt A Free Skillet Queso from Chili's, a $5 gift certificate from Daphne's Greek Cafe and a concert voucher provided by LiveNation to one of the following concerts at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino: Crue Fest on Friday, July 31; Journey on Saturday, August 1 and Def Leppard/Poison/Cheap Trick on Sunday, September 6.  Concert tickets are limited; donors with scheduled appointments will receive priority concert preferences.
