•         80% of companies that do not recover from a disaster within one month are likely to go out of business.

 

 

A new study by the American Red Cross finds that 62% of American Workers are not confident about their Preparedness in the Workplace. The study found that:

·         Less than half of employees surveyed were familiar with the disaster plan at their workplace;

·         Nearly 70% had not received specific information about disaster preparedness in the last 12 months;

·         Only slightly more than half (55%) had ever received specific disaster and emergency information from their employer; and

  • Only one in ten American households has a family emergency plan, a disaster kit, and training in First Aid and CPR.

  First Aid and Preparedness Course

  The First Aid and Preparedness presentation is ideal for employees who want to learn lifesaving skills but do not need to       receive certification to meet OSHA regulations. A 90-minute session is packed with information to help employees stay prepared with valuable lifesaving skills – both on the job and at home with their families. Plus, any employee with First Aid and CPR certification can lead a presentation for other employees so it’s easy to offer training at convenient times. Plus, there’s no formal instructor training required.

 

Helping businesses prepare for the unthinkable- the Red Cross of Santa Monica has a variety of courses, emergency kits and  supplies as well as business preparedness planning products and services to meet every budget. They include:

  • First Aid/CPR/AED training-at your work site or ours. For individual employees or groups, 24/7.
  • Be Ready Red Cross employee presentation-45 minute presentation to employees on basic disaster preparedness at work and home.
  • First Aid and Preparedness presentation-90 minute presentation that provides basic First Aid training and basic preparedness training, (Non-certified).
  • Business Continuity Planning CD-ROM-to help you develop an emergency plan for your organization and protect your business operations.
